DSM are produced from partly hydrolysed starch, cross-linked, and substituted with glycerol ether groups and are degradable by α-amylase [20]. The complete degradation of DSM by α-amylase causes only a short-lasting temporary vascular occlusion, which allows a repeated application of DSM in TACE [3].
