Conclusions: The

current finding should serve as an alert to epidemiologists, clinicians and laboratory technicians in the possibility of finding P. ovale in Malaysia. This study is a retrospective single-center study of patients who needed conversion to LRYGB because of failed LAGB. Outcomes after conversion of LAGB to LRYGB in one or two steps were compared.

Between October 2008 and June 2010, 23 patients had a conversion in one step (group A) while, in 14 patients, the conversion was carried out at least 2 months after band removal (group B). DESIGN: This was a retrospective case series of 52 HIV-positive individuals receiving treatment for MDR-TB in Lima, Peru. We used Cox proportional hazards regression models to identify risk factors for mortality.

RESULTS: A total of 31 (57%) of the cohort died on treatment, with the majority of deaths due to MDR-TB. Low baseline weight predicted a three-fold increased rate of death (aHR 3.1, 95%CI 1.5-6.7), while individuals receiving highly active ART experienced a significantly lower rate of death compared to those who were not (aHR 0.4, 95 %CI 0.2-0.9).

The latter group adapted their postural control strategy when standing on an unstable surface so that input from back muscles increased (p < 0.001). However, such adaptation was not observed when the back muscles were fatigued. Furthermore, people with LBP continued to rely strongly on ankle proprioception regardless of the testing conditions. In conclusion, these findings suggest that impaired back muscle function, as a result of acute muscle fatigue or pain, may lead to an inability to adapt postural control strategies to the prevailing conditions.”
